After a Summer of fun, Hairspray, family, Harispray, and relaxing, I decided to apply for a teaching position. I wasn't going to teach this year because of a few reasons but when a position opened up at a new elementary school by my house, I decided to apply. Through the application process I felt that no matter what happened, it would be the right thing and I ended up getting the job and I can tell you I love it! I am teaching 2nd grade and it is a whole different experience, not just with the grade change but also the students. I have a difficult class but I love them and I am learning how to work with children from all different backgrounds. I have an awesome team! I have new experiences every day with my students, one including some profanities being yelled at me coming from a student... Another story for another time. I probably won't have time to update much this year as I am working 10 hour days again but I love it and wouldn't change where I am.

So I am currently rehearsing for the show Hairspray! It has always been my dream to be in this show, mainly because I love the music and the message, but also because I get to picture Zac Efron as Link in every scene *Sigh* Every since High School Musical, Zac Efron will always have a special place in my heart. (Don't worry, Mckell knows he is my celebrity crush. He has his, Taylor Swift, and I have mine. It's cool.) Anyways, my dream role is to play Amber in this show. She has the best lines and she is so opposite of me. As I am afraid of failure and I didn't want to have to dedicate my entire summer to rehearsal (although I have to anyways), when I auditioned I just listed wanting a part on the Teen Council (the Dancers on the Corny Collins Show) and I got it so I am perfectly happy with it. I get to hang out with Amber and do basically everything that she does, except say all the clever little lines that try to belittle Tracy. However, I do have one line in the show and a name. It is Shelley and I get to say it during our "Role Call" so I feel pretty cool.

We started rehearsing in April and don't perform until July 21-30 (you better write this down so you know when you get to come see me.) This is the LONGEST I have ever had to rehearse for a play in my entire life! In high school, we would put shows together in 4-5 weeks tops. One time we only had 2 weeks to learn all the music and dances for a show before we performed, crazy I know. So as you can imagine I have been dying with this long of a rehearsal process. We still have 6 weeks to master the show...... 6 weeks, do you know how long 6 weeks is? 1 1/2 months, that's how long it is. We have already been rehearsing for 8 weeks and we have learned basically everything we have had to do and now we have 6 weeks of rehearsals to perfect it so you better believe our show will be stinkin' amazing! That's right, stinkin' amazing. That means you have to come see it because it will be awesome.

You may be asking yourself, where is this post going? Well, I will tell you right now, I have been dying to get to perform and I finally did! (Well, kinda) To help promote the show, we get to be in the Springville and Spanish Fork parades! And this past Saturday was the Springville Art City Parade and I got to dance and sing along the parade route! It was finally a chance to show off all of the hard work our cast has done. So we start the parade and we are all trying to dance the choreography and walk at the same time (Extremely tricky, you should try it if you don't believe me.) and I start seeing the crowd trying to get a better look at our sweet dance moves, and the Disney parade instincts take over and I want to get the crowd involved and "feel the magic" so I lean over to my friends and say, "Hey, Let's turn and face the crowd while we dance and stay there to perform for a minute and then run to try to catch up!" Brilliant, right? I sure thought so, but no one else did. I couldn't convince anyone to try to involve the crowd more, I mean they wanted to get them up on their feet dancing as much as I did but they thought that it would work by showing off how to walk and dance at the same time. I love my cast mates but that really wasn't working and I took the matter into my own hands. I decided to just face the crowds and dance all by myself. Did I look like a fool? Probably. Did I get the crowd up and dancing? Sure thing! I even have pictures to prove it.

Here I am on the left of the picture facing the crowd and getting my groove on and notice the little girl dancing along. Okay so maybe she might not be dancing but it sure looks like it. I do however have real proof of getting someone in the crowd to dance with me. Keep scrolling to see it....

This guy was awesome, I asked if anyone knew how to do the twist and his family started chanting his name (I think it was Trevor or Travis... something along those lines) and so I started chanting too and then he came up and danced with me for like 5 min, He wouldn't really stop and I felt bad leaving him but the group was already so far ahead I had to. So you can see how dancing facing the crowd works so much better then showing off your dance walking skills :)

I loved the chance to perform the dance moves we have been practicing forever and I got to touch roots with my Disney parade performing months. Thanks for the pictures Jennifer!

Anyways, I really do love the cast! Everyone is extremely talented and we already have learned so much of an awesome show! And we couldn't have done it without our amazing directors. You can witness the amazininity of our cast in this photo that was taken right before the parade.

If you would like to see more, we will be in the Spanish Fork Fiesta Days Parade on July 25. Or if you would like to see even more, we will be performing July 21 - 30 except on Tuesdays and Wednesday and on the 25th, our show will be at 5 pm for those who would like to go to the rodeo that night. We perform at Spanish Fork High School on Center Street in Spanish Fork. Google it if you are unsure where it is exactly. (What would we do without Google!?!)

Also, THIS SATURDAY, June 18, we are having a Car Wash/Bake Sale Fundraiser for our show. Talent can only get us so far people, we need your money :) JK but seriously we would love any donations you have. We will be at the Spanish Fork Rec Center, 775 North Main Street in, can you guess it?, Spanish Fork from 10:00 am to 1:00pm. Come meet the sweet cast and get the best car wash you will ever have brought to you by "Ultra Clutch Hairspray" and have a snack while you wait. Be sure to write the info down so you don't forget it on Saturday when you think, "Man, my car really needs a good wash. Where was that rad car wash again?!"

I'm Back!

It has been 9 months since I have posted on my blog! So pathetic I know, well now that I have the summer off and, as of now, won't be working next year I have time to waste, I mean update, on my journal.

This past year has been amazing! I was teaching 3rd grade down in Salem at an amazing school. The students and parents there were awesome to work with as well as the staff and other teachers. I didn't know I could grow so close to 30 students over 9 months. The last day was an emotional roller coaster for me. I would be so excited to be done with 10 hour work days but then I would remember I would never see my students again and start crying.

Not only were the students wonderful but they taught me so much. I learned how to be strict and nice at the same time, spring fever is REAL, 3rd graders like to make homemade pictures to give their teacher, if you think something is cool you can convince the entire class that it is too, students' parents aren't as scary as I thought, they can actually become your friends, as a teacher, working 60+ hour weeks is normal, etc. I love teaching and helping students going from confused to getting the concept. I will miss the best 3rd grade class at our elementary because really they were. I had such hard working, smart students to work with I feel spoiled to have such an amazing class and nothing can compare to this year.

This year has been filled with a lot of work for Mckell and I. On top of me staying busy with school and being in the Young Women's in my ward, Mckell was more busy than I was. In order for Mckell to graduate this spring, he needed to take 20+ credits each semester and he did it while working a full time job as well! He also has discovered a love of golf. Working so hard on the weekdays he needed a release on Saturdays and golf was the best thing! I don't love his, now obsession with golf but I am always so busy that I am glad he has something to do.

This summer I have been able to start performing again! I am Hairspray down here in Spanish Fork but I will post more about that later. I am staying busy now with that and helping my older sister who just had her third baby girl! She is so precious, I will post pictures of Little Elanore Rose Lewis later, I don't have many pictures to upload yet but they will come.

I am so excited to not only keep up on my blog but also everyone's as well!!!

I am still alive! Teaching is so busy but I am loving it! I spend every second working on it but the kids make it all worth it! This is all I have time to post but just wanted you to know that everything is still great here!

Many of you have probably read this on my sister's blog but it is so funny that I have to post it too. Below you will see a conversation that my niece, Addie, has with her dad and it is a perfect follow up to my Bieber Fever post.

The other night the dinner conversation went something like this:

Addie: Daddy, I love you!

Dad: I love you too Addie.

Addie: Dad, do you know who else I love?
Dad: Who?

Addie: Justin Bieber

Dad: Really? What do you love about Justin Bieber?

Addie: Well, you know he has that blond hair that he shakes his head, kinda like this. (Addie shakes her head) I love that.
Dad: Oh I see

Addie: I think I will marry him.

Dad: Well you better make sure he knows that.

Addie: Oh he just knows.

She is such a character!! Ha ha I love this little girl!

Acting Up!

All of high school and junior high I was in a performing group called Acting Up! Acting Up! was started by a very talented lady, Laurel, who I met in 2nd grade at my elementary school and she put on these shows at school that were amazing! I remember being in the audience of The Wizard of Oz (my brother Jason was the Lion) and just wanting to be up on that stage but you couldn't join the club until 4th! So I waited patiently until I was finally in 4th grade. My first show was Alice in Wonderland and I was a penguin. Random I know but if you knew me back then I was the shyest of shy girls. That show got me hooked on performing, even though all I did was walk around in a caucus race. The club soon evolved into a youth performing group that switched from the Scera to the Hale and then back to the Scera where it is now. While we were performing at the Hale, we did a show called Starmites. If you haven't heard of this show, it is quite the treat!! It has superheroes, princesses, divas, villans, banshees, etc. It was written in the 80s and if you are a fan of broadway musicals, this is definitely one to check out. The music is so clever and so fun to sing.You may be wondering why I am bringing up this one show. Well I am glad to announce that the Alumni of Acting Up! will be performing Starmites again!! And yes this means your truly will be in it again! I will be playing a banshee! Wahoo! I am not sure when we will perform it but it will most likely be before August 10th. We are just starting rehearsal and they are bringing back so many flashbacks! It is like I am 15 again! I love it. I have included a picture of the original cast, sorry the quality isn't the greatest- it was taken in 2002. I have also included one of the marvelous songs. It is called Reach Right Down and it makes me want to be part of a huge soul choir. Enjoy!!

Bieber Fever

I will admit it - I have Bieber Fever. I love love love all of his songs! There is one little girl who might have a fever higher than mine. Her name is Addilyn Lewis and she is 3 years old. She knows all of his songs, literally every word she has memorized. Here is an example. This is the rap section of Justin's song "Baby." Even though it is sung by Luda, what other 3 year old do you know that can rap? She is a little distracted in the video from my camera case so you don't get very much eye contact. I have included the words to the rap so you can see how pretty dead on she is. Love this girl!

My Birthday!

My Birthday was on Saturday May 22 and I turned 22! 22 is my favorite number so this was a big year for me. I decided to have a little pool party and BBQ with my family in the afternoon. It was alot of fun and the weather was actually nice enough to get in the pool for a little bit. Mckell "surprised" me with a new camera!! But he really surprised me with a life vest of my very own. Whenever we go to Lake Powell I have to fight against 10 other girls to get the one vest that fits all of us. Because of this I started looking for a vest all to myself in February when I started getting Spring Fever but I haven't looked for any since. Mckell remembered this and also got me an awesome life vest that was designed just for me. Not really but it could've been, it is teal with gold on it. After the pool party, Mckell took me to Spark in Provo. I have been wanting to go try it out and it was pretty good. The menu was small so I got fancy Mac and Cheese and Mckell got salmon. But they did have yummy drinks! I would go there again but just for the drinks. The drink I got was a Shirley Temple and it had cotton candy in it!! So good! After dinner, some of my friends came over and watched a movie and had shakes by Mckell. It was an awesome birthday!!!

So I recently found this video and I just love it! The song is so catchy and it just makes me feel happy! I wish I had all of their outfits and glasses. This is a show that Brooke White from American Idol (from the best season) and another girl, I think her name is Sammy started but you have to check it out! They call it The Girls with Glasses, so cute. It is such a great song and show!

I love this place so much!! I had a great time and wish I could be back there right now as I watch my nieces experience it for the first time. They are both little princesses! Oh can I say I am so glad they brought back Captain EO!!! Loved seeing this show!!

I went to Disneyland with UVU and this included a few of my friends that I have met through the mentor program who I will miss so much! We played hard for two days and were completely worn out! We went and met the princesses and fairies which I love to do so much and I am glad that others enjoyed doing it to! It is so fun to interact with them! I feel like Thomas the Tank Engine lately. No matter how much time I spend on homework, I just have to keep on going. It is double the amount of work that I thought I would have to do this semester but I have learned so much! It is amazing what hard work can get you. I am loving this semester and even though I have spent a googol (1 with 100 zeros behind it) hours of my time the past two weeks, the end is in sight! I am going to be completely done with homework next Monday and the rest of the week I get to PARTAY!!! (including going to DISNEYLAND!!) *Notice the ticker above:) I love Spring and Summer time and I can't wait to get started with planning my classroom next year- If you have any hints or ideas to help please post below! I have been absent on my blog lately but don't worry- I plan to update more and get a new camera soon-hopefully so I can post more pictures. I don't even know who reads this so I hope someone cares about my posts... Oh side note, my closet rod broke today so I may be in need of an assistant to help me clean out my closet because I tend to be kind of a pack rat! Love you all!

Free Disney Tickers

I get to visit the happiest place on earth!!! I am so lucky! I love Disney Parks with all my heart, heaven sakes I worked there! I have been having the worst Disney Withdrawals the past couple of months. Let me explain to you why I have been having these withdrawals. We will being in 2004.
2004- Disneyland with Acting Up!
2005- Disney World with MVHS Choir Tour
2006- Disneyland with Cheerleaders
2007- Disney World for 8 months straight
2008- (May) Disney World with Ambree
2008- (October) Disneyland with Mckell and his family (one of the funnest trips of my life in a DisneyPark)
2009- NOTHING!!
2010- April 30th - May 3 trip with UVU! And hopefully I can stay and get to play with my Nieces and Nephew!

I have been spoiled and conditioned! I am so used to going to Disney on a yearly basis if not more. Sadly, Mckell doesn't enjoy Disney as much as I do so he won't be coming with me on this trip (at least not at this point, still trying to talk him into it) but I don't want to wear him out just yet. We need to save some of his Disney Park capabilities for when we have kids. Luckily Mckell is letting me go without him (to his relief) so I can get my Disney fix for the next year. But I get to go on this trip with some of the best friends that I have made at school through the Mentor program and it is an early graduation present for me, I won't be graduating until next April but I will be teaching full time next year so I won't have the same school schedule. I have had a lot of past experiences and memories in California and Florida and I can't wait to make some more.

Just to warn you- this is a long post! This is what happens when I don't update in over a month:)

I just have to tell you that I have had an awesome week! It started out a little scary but it all turned out great! Last Friday, I had two interviews for a teaching internship, one for Nebo School District and one for Provo School District. I felt really good about both interviews but I was also nervous so I kind of played the funny card and I didn't know if the districts thought that I wasn't serious about the internship. If I would get the internship than I would get to teach in my own classroom for next year and still be able to finish up my last semester of school. I would also get half salary. If I didn't get the internship, I would have to do student teaching next semester for ten weeks and then get my teaching certificate. I have been debating over this decision for about three months, and I couldn't make up my mind. I knew I do better when I just jump in and go for it, but I also didn't want to do the work that interning takes (I know I am lazy.) The day the intern applications were do, I was talking to Mckell about whether or not I should go for the internship. He said, "What are you going to loose if you try for it and don't make it? Are you going to regret not doing it?" As I thought about this, I remembered something that I teach the students that I mentor and it is "Risk Being a Fool." Which is basically having the courage to fail. Well I hate failure. I hate losing. I am a winner, I get upset if I don't win and many of you know this about me. It isn't a pretty sight. Well obviously I just went for it because I knew that I would regret not even trying and then hating life because I am restricted in a teachers classroom. So originally said that we would find out about the internship on Friday night, but then that day they said it wouldn't be until Monday after 12 and we would get a call whether we got it or not. I was in anticipation all weekend. It was not fun at all.

So to make the weekend even more nerve racking, Mckell went snowmobiling on Friday with his Dad and Boss and when he got back into cell phone service range there was a voice mail on his phone from the CEO of the company saying that he might want to rethink his position in Condie Construction and that he needs to take an unpaid day off on Monday and meet with him on Tuesday morning to discuss. Story made short, we were both nervous wrecks! That night we went on a date to the mongolion grill in Springville and I got a fortune that said "Wish upon a star you luck will be with you thhe next day." I took that to heart and on Sunday I did.

Monday was one of the longest days of my life as I sat in class from 8-11 and then had a meeting from 11-12. I was so anxious to get that phone call!! It was 12:03pm and a number I didn't know came up on my cell phone. My stomach did a flip!! I was in UVU's cafeteria with some of my Mentor friends. I ran outside so I could hear better and I picked up the phone. "Hi is this Sarianne? This is Ed Schollenberger from Foothills Elementary and I was wondering if you would be interested in teaching 3rd grade with us next year?" I couldn't believe it!!! I got the internship!! I accepted and then ran into the cafeteria to tell me friends! I literally was jumping for joy in front of the entire student body of UVU!! It was one of the best moments of my life! The next thought that came into my head was, "Where is foothill elementary?" So to save you from having to look it up, it is in Salem about 5 miles from my house!!

Now for Mckell's luck on Tuesday. He went to the meeting and luckily the wishing on the star carried into Tuesday and for Mckell as well. He didn't loose his job and really the only thing is that he is the bosses son. People in the company just like to complain about Mckell because apparently he gets the royal treatment in the company. He is one of the hardest workers I know and he started on one of the lowest levels of the company and has worked his way up. The only thing that Mckell has to do is spread his work week out to five days instead of four. We are so lucky!!

Well to keep this week going great, I am an AUNT(again)! Mckell's Sister, Cassidy, had her baby on Wednesday night. She is one of the cutest babies! She was 10 pounds 1 oz and 21 inches long! (Don't worry she had to have c-section because the baby was too big) On Thursday, I spent half of my day hanging out at the hospital with the baby. I went there right after class at 12pm, then went back with Mckell at 1:30pm then back at 4pm with Kali, Mckell's other sister. It was awesome! I am so excited for them to bring the little girl home! And now Cass has no excuse not to have a blog!! Yay welcome to the blogging world!!

So as you can see, it has been an awesome week! I also got an A on all 4 of my class presentations this week! We are so blessed and I have seen it so much this week!! We love you all and I hope I update this again before two months :)

(P.S. My camera is broken so until I get a new one I will just be writing and there won't be pictures of my house up yet! Sorry for those who are anxious to see it!)

DISNEYLAND!!!

SO... I am going to Disneyland!!! But not until April 30th *sigh* I keep telling myself that it isn't too far away but in reality it is! I have only 64 days left of school and that means I have 64 days until Disneyland. I leave the day after my last final and it will I am really enjoying most of my classes this semester and I am learning so much about who I am as a teacher and how I want to teach. It makes me excited to go and teach in the fall. I have intern interviews this Friday and if I get it then I get to have my very own classroom to teach in all year. If I don't get it then I will be doing student teaching for 5th grade at Cherry Creek Elementary in Springville. Either option I will be excited to do but I wish I just knew what I will be doing doing in the fall. I will find out on Friday and all my waiting will be over, at least for that anyways.

This is my niece, who is the smartest three year old around. I mean who can hear a song two times and have it memorized just like that? and on top of that make up her own dance moves?? See what I mean... this is her having a grand old time watching the set up of a gingerbread house festival, she of course found the stage and then started performing for all of the PTA ladies there. Love her!

Craft Night

So my friend, Jessica, from school has a monthly craft night. This month we made a countdown to Valentine's Day. You use a muffin tin and you make cute circles to put on top of each muffin hole with magnets. Well I spent 3 hours making 12 circles, cutting everything out by hand. (This is when a Cricut would've been useful.) I went home to put the magnets on and finish this project but the magnets I got weren't strong enough and the circles kept sliding off the muffin tin. I tried putting more magnets on but it didn't help! So I decided to make them fridge decorations. They still look cute but they don't really have a point anymore besides looking cute. So here are my 12 circles hanging on my fridge that I am pretty proud of!! I will admit it is nice to have something on my fridge! (I already took the creative arts class a few semesters ago so I don't have anymore fun art projects that I get to hang on my fridge. It looks boring most of the time.)

FINALLY!

I have never been more excited for a break from school! For some reason this semester I was not very motivated to get into a school routine which is very odd because I love learning and it is easy for me. So I had to always force myself into doing homework and readings. I mean I usually get excited to do homework - I know I am strange but I really do love some classes and so I love doing the homework and reading in them. And if i do the homework assignments I like first, I am already in homework mood so I can finish the others with little force. But this semester was completely different and more difficult for me, my favorite class was science and I never had homework in it and we would get to do fun experiments every week, never a lot of homework. So I am guessing the reason why I am so excited for the break is I don't have to make myself do homework anymore, I can just sit around and read any book that I choose. I also think that moving into a house during the middle of the semester didn't help much (pictures to come I promise.) and Yes I am FINALLY DONE! FINALLY!! But I do start back on January 6th and have a test on the 9th so I get to jump right into it, but good news - I now have only one year left before I graduate!! FINALLY!!Hopefully on December 30th, I will receive this letter!!!

For the past two weeks ALL of my time has been focused on doing this-Now with 12 papers out of the way, I only have 3 more to write, 2 presentations to give and only 3 more days left of school before Christmas break! I have been looking forward to December 18th since about October 18th and it is finally here(almost!) Now I don't have to stay up until 1:00am doing homework, I get to play Wii instead! I am lucky enough to only have presentations for my finals, I guess working by bum off the past two weeks really does have its rewards! This weekend I was so excited to have time that I get to choose what I get to do instead of teachers giving me homework assignments that take up all of my time, so I decided that I would spend the time baking! I love to cook, even though I don't do it as much as I should, but I still love to do it, especially cooking desserts! Friday I spent all day in the kitchen making cookies for my annual family Christmas cookie exchange! It was so much fun! We ate some delicious Cafe Rio and then got to take home a huge box full of cookies and recipes!

The cookies I made are the ones on the right. They are a white chocolate cherry cookie and not to brag or anything, but they were delicious!! I found the recipe here and this is the recipe I am going to use to make chocolate chip cookies from now on! I changed the recipe a little after reading the reviews and added another 1/2 stick of butter, you can never go wrong with more butter right?

On Saturday my sister and I spent time doing some final Christmas shopping and making homemade marshmallows. I got the idea from the Beehive Bazaar in Provo two weeks ago and I've been dying to try to make them myself. I found the recipe from this blog and they turned out delicious. We added some crushed up candy canes to them to make them a little more festive and more delicious in hot cocoa. This is the finished project. I think they turned out really cute and fluffy, what do you think?

Inspirational Weekends

This weekend and last weekend, I was able to go to a variety of shows and events that were very inspirational. Last Friday I started the inspiration off by going to Disney on Ice! I went with all of the girls in my family as well as Mckell's family. I was so inspired that I started crying when it first started... Tinkerbell flying out with the Disney songs playing was so magical!

Then on Saturday we were supposed to go to New Moon because we had special passes a week before! We got to the theater and there was no one there... turns out that we weren't as special as we thought and we had to wait until next Saturday. Since we had driven up to Thanksgiving Point Theater we didn't want to make a waste of the drive, so we saw This Is It! Michael Jackson movie. It was really interesting to see him working and how normal/strange he really was. There was this song in it that talked about making the world a better place (not Heal the World song- that one wasn't in the movie to my disappointment) but it made me want to save the rainforests! Again inspirational.

This past weekend we started off with going to Savior of The World at the conference center in Salt Lake. Such an awesome performance! It was really interesting to see how Mary and Joseph felt when they found out they were betrothed and when Mary was pregnant. If you have never seen it before, take a night and go see how inspirational it was! Don't worry, I cried in this one too!

It finally was Saturday and was time to see NEW MOON! I had a very eye openeing experience. I usually cheer for Team Edward. But the more I sat there and watched Jacob with his shirt off for 3/4 of the movie, the more I switched to Team Jacob. The final turn was when Edward took his shirt off and I threw up a little bit in my mouth. (I'm sorry Robert but you should've known to wax your chest before showing it to a bajillion girls.) After the switch to Team Jacob, there was a lot m ore inspiration in the watching of this movie!
Saturday night, I had my mentor Holiday Party. The theme was an ugly sweater contest and I decided to dress mine up a bit with some hair bows. I was very inspired by the sweaters that I saw. I also found out that I love white elephant parties. I want everyone's junk and randomness! We gave a bucket of already popped popcorn and the making to Ryan Cabrerra's music video as well as some pillow shams. Both were a huge hit! We came home with some treaures of our own - an m&m teapot and a cute Thanksgiving turkey. I love Mckell's sweater on him - It is actually my mothers :)

Finally, Saturday night we went and saw The Blind Side. I am in love with this movie! I walked out not feeling like I want to punch someone like some of the movies I have previously seen, but that I want to take every homeless person home with me. I would recommend putting this movie on top of your movies I've got to see list.

Over all you can see how Inspirational my life has been lately and I know that with the Holidays coming up, it is going to become more and more inspiring so look out for really long posts!

We Have Moved!

We have officially moved into our new house! It was a busy weekend but well worth it! My sister and her husband and two little kids have moved in with us for a few months and I can't wait to spend time with them, especially becuase my neices are so adorable and fun, Paul and Jess are alright too:) Pictures of the house will be coming soon!

I know it isn't even October yet but it is one of my favorite times of the year and I figured it was close enough that I could have a stinkin cute background! There are a few reasons why I can't wait for Halloween this year:

1. We will be in our NEW HOUSE!!! - Exact date still unsure, but for sure will be before Halloween.

2. I can decorate my NEW HOUSE for Halloween!

One Year!

We did it! We made it one whole year! We were married on August 22, 2008 and I didn't know that time could fly so fast! I have loved this year with Mckell and I can't wait to live the rest of my life with him. For our anniversary, we went down to St. George and just relaxed before we got the school year going again. I forgot my camera and I was so bummed but I did get a few pictures on my phone but I can't figure out how to put them on the computer. We started our day off with going to the St George temple which I have never been in before and it was beautiful! We then just relaxed and did a little shopping and visiting to a couple of my friends down there, then we went to dinner at this delicious place called The Painted Pony. The food there was so yummy!! We have crab cakes, french onion souped served in an actual onion, ahi tuna (Mckell's favorite dish) and shark!! It was all so good! This was one of my favorite things we did all weekend. So our summer has been so much fun and I am so sad to see it go! I haven't really updated a lot of pictures so now is the time to do so! Our month of June was spent of me having Beauty and the Beast Performances, then in July we went to Lake Powell and a few very fun rodeos and Mckell's Birthday, August we spent the time working on our new house, I also went to the Tetons with my UV Mentor group! The other week we went and saw the 6th movie with our friends Nate and Alison up in the Jordan IMAX theater. it was such an awesome movie! (If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it.) Well McKell remembered that he had never read the 7th book because he was on his mission when it came out, so he was determined to go to Wal-Mart that night and buy it so he could read it. Keep in mind that it was after midnight and we were in Salt Lake. I was not very excited about this plan and I was so tired and just wanted to go home. After a long drive of trying to convinve to wait until tomorrow and we can just borrow it from our parents, he gave in. So the next day, he went to his parents and got the book and started to read. I felt really left out and decided I was going to read it as well, so I went to my parents and borrowed their copy and started the book again. For the next 2 weeks, we spent all our time reading the book, trying to beat each other to the end. We aren't very competitive :) We would spend hours of our time reading and trying to distract the other person so that we could read ahead of the other. The other day we both finished the book (Mckell likes to call it a tie but I really won) It was a great book and it was fun to talk to Mckell as he was discovering what was going on. If you have not read this series because you don't want to follow the trend you are really missing out on some great reading!!

So after months of debating whether we wanted to try and buy a home rather than build (our builder couldn't get the finacing to build our home, so we were looking for other options), We got a call that our builder finally got financing!!! I am so excited for a home for our selves, our very own home home as my neice addie says. The new date for it to be finished is the middle of September and I cannot even tell you how excited I am. Mckell is going to start digging the hole this weekend and then after that, it is a 60 day build!! The only sad thing is we don't have a place to live until then. Our contract for our apartment ends this month so we are homeless unitl then- well not really we have some wonderful friends and family who have offered us a room for us to stay until then but until we decided what will happen we are homeless. So we do have to move out by the 31st so if you have any extra boxes lying around that you would like to donate to the move, We would really appreciate it!! But that is what has been going on with us these days. We also went to Lake Powell at the beginning of this month which was so much fun! We went with Mckell's family and friends which added up to about 40 people on two house boats. We also brought my little sister Natalie with us and it was so much fun!! I used her camera to take most of the pictures so I don't have any to post as of yet, but I promise I will get some up there! Hope your summers are all going well so far!

It's All Over

For the past three months I have had such a busy schedule with rehearsals and then performances for Beauty and the Beast almost every night. On top of that I was a taking a math class, which kept me busy with lots of homework and tests. I hardly had any free time. But Saturday was our last performance and I just took my final today! The problem is now I have a little too much free time on my hands. I am just not sure what to do. . . I haven't had this much free time for over a year because of school and wedding plans during the breaks. So to get the most out of this lucky extra time that I have I made a list of things to do before school.

1. Read lots of books!

(I'm reading the Luxe Series right now and I am almost done with The Luxe, so if any of you have Rumors and would be willing to let me borrow it I would much appreciate it! Also if any of you have some good reads, let me know too!)

2. Sew my skirt that I have been dying to make and lots of other things to come my way

3. Go to Lake Powell-- I have been waiting all summer for this trip!

4. Finally cook fully home made dinners (If you have any good reciepes, let me know)

5. Finish a baby blanket that I bought almost a year ago to make

6. Plan fun get togethers with friends

As sad as I am to not be involves with Beauty and The Beast anymore, I am so glad (Mckell is too) that I have more time to spend with family and friends! Thanks to my wonderful husband who let me give a ton of my time to the show! I couldn't have done it without his support!

Last night, our brother-in-law's brother, Cam, took some pictures of Mckell for his picture portfolio and they turn out awesome! He was amazing, both the photographer and Mckell! The pictures turned out so cool! We weren't able to stay out there too long because of the weather, but because of this we got some crazy cool pictures. He looks like a lightning bolt in the sky. My husband is such a talented rider, I could never get the guts to even ride his motor bike by myself, let alone with him on it with me! I love watching him ride, as he would say, "He's got style!" I love him so much, but here are some of the pictures from the shoot!

As of May 16, 2009 I am no longer an employee of the most magical place on earth, Disney World. In January 2007, I moved out to Florida to live my dream of working for Disney. I lived out there for eight months and was a character performer in the parades and in the parks. I worked for so many different characters, it was so fun to get to know them and make kids dreams come true when they get to meet their favorite character. After those eight months, we have a year to go back and work again for us to keep our employee status, and that is exactly what I did. My friend I met out there, Ambree and I went to visit last May and worked my last shift at Disney World. I needed to go back out there and work this May to keep this status of employee and keep the benefits(one of them being free Disneyland passes) But as much as I wanted to go out there and work, I knew it wouldn't happen. Sadly I have to move on from that section of my life but luckily I made some great friends which makes the loss a little easier. I hope you all Have a Magical Day!

Mckell has been playing on our friend's companies softball team! He is a very talented softball player, especially for never playing in his life! I love going to the games and I have made a lot of good friends. They may be a few years younger then me but we always have fun when we are watching the team play! My littlest brother Keaton graduated from 6th grade las week!! He is such an awesome little kid! He is the youngest of six and he does get picked on a ton but he is such a tough kid. He is one of the smartest, funniest, and hard working kids I know and Mckell has so much fun having him as a little brother to pick on. He was one of the kids to give a speech at the graduation, and although you could only understand half of it because he was talking too fast, it was really funny and very good. I was impressed with how talented of a writer he is. He wrote almost the whole talk by himself and it was really good! We love you Keaton and good luck in Junior High!

One of Mckell's best friend in high school, Andrew, got married last weekend to one of the sweetest girls out their, Jena. Their wedding was so beautiful! The temple had gorgeous weather and they looked so happy! We are so happy for them to join the married club, even though sometimes it felt like they were married for months when we would hang out with them. One of my favorite parts of the day was when the sealer kept calling Jena, Yena and even after Andrew corrected him, he still said Yena a couple times. It is even funnier because our friend Nikki always calls her Yena for fun and then when she was married it was still Yena! But Mckell's other best friend Ryan gave them this beautigul picture of himself dressed up like a cowboy because Andrew has always wanted to be a cowbot. He is apparently making it a tradition because we got this beautiful picture of Ryan at our wedding!!

April Snow Showers?

We live next to the mountains and in April we had a huge snow storm one night and I woke up to this! There was so much snow on our tree that it blocked our driveway, I couldn't get my car out of the driveway because this tree was blocking it! I had to shake the show off of the tree so it would lift just enough for me to get my car out. Good thing I have such a little car. By the end of the day, there was hardly any snow left on the yard. This was such a wierd week for weather:)

St. George Vacay!

For UVU's Spring Break, my sister and Jessica wanted to plan a fun vacation for us and our husbands. We were debating on going on a small cruise or just going down to McKell's Parent's house in St. George. Since Mckell and Paul have never been on a cruise before we decided to wait on that and plan a trip to go on a longer cruise later on, but who knows when that will be. So we went to St. George, and it was so much fun! We went down on a Wednesday night and stayed until Sunday. It was the perfect vacation, we spent zero time working on homework and all time playing. We went down to Vegas on Thursday for Paul's first trip there. It was really funny to see his reaction to Vegas, it was nothing like he expected it to be. We ate at The Cheesecake Factory and Bahama Breeze, which I highly recommend if haven't been to either. Get the ribs at Bahama Breeze of you go there. On Friday, McKell's dad needed to get his pilot hours in so his parents flew down to the house and took us out to lunch. Then the boys went shopping and the girls went shopping. We were also the chaperone to Mckell's little sister McKenzie and her friends while they went to the Baseball Sunshine tournament. It was a full weekend but it was so much fun! Before Mckell's parents left, his dad took us up in the plane for Jessica's and I first time in a small plane. It was an experience, it was kinda shaky and you could feel every bump. Paul wussed out and stayed at the house and took a nap. Between all of this, we managed to go swimming, see two movies, go to Wal-Mart at Midnight for the release of Twilight(just the girls went to this, we couldn't convince our husbands to come), and even find a bowl to float chex mix in the hot tub(probably Mckell's favorite thing)

Rascal Flatts

Mckell and I love love love Rascal Flatts! We think they are the greatest band on the planet! Our love basically started when we met. We first met in our Institute class, Mckell and I had a chance to become really good friends, after class he would always drive me to my class on the other side of campus and we would listent to Rascal Flatts. Well one days he said that he had Rascall Flatts tickets and he wondered if I would want to go with him, well I had already been asked by my "boyfriend" at the time so I said that I was already going. For the next few days he would ask me if I had told this boy that I was going with someone else but I wouldn't give. He soon gave up and asked someone else, but we were both excited to go to the concert. Well the week of theconcert rolled around and I broke up with my boyfriend and ended up not going to the concert at all, but did end up with a much better boyfriend/husband! Anyways Mckell said he would make it up to me and he did! In July 2008, He took me to Cheyenne, Whyoming for the frontier days to see Taylor Swift and Rascal Flatts! Our two very favorite country singers! We had a blast and when we heard the Rascal was coming again in February, we wanted to go so bad but our married budget would allow us. We were both sad but we got over it. Well the day of the concert came around and I get this phone call from Mckell's best friend, Ryan, who said he had two extra tickets to Rascal and wondered if we wanted to go! I said of course and called Mckell to tell him the good news, which was kinda bad news because he had to miss his class that night, but he was quickly over that! We got our cowboy gear on and drove up to the concert and had so much fun! Not to mention Jessica Simpson opened.Yay for Rascal Flatts!

In January, my best friend Britni went up to Rexburg to see our other best friend's little baby Kennedy, which is the cutest thing! (I did manage to blog about that) Well we decided that I was going to drive up to her apartment in Taylorsville and park my car there, and then drive her car up to Rexburg. I got to Britni's apartment at 9am on Saturday and we go back to Taylorsville that Sunday at 5pm. When she drove up to my car, I noticed that there was no window in the drivers seat, and being as nieve as I am, I said, "Britni, it looks like my car window is rolled down." I was trying to think if I had rolled it down and forgot to roll it up, but when I got out of the car I saw that someone had broken my window and stolen my stereo!! I was so mad/scared/worried! So we called McKell and he said that everything would be alright and to call the police and he would take care of the rest. So I called the police and he filed a report and that is about how much the police helped us. So Britni, her husband Jesse, and I cleaned up the mess of glass and snow and taped the up the window with a grabage bag so I could drive home. The ride home was one of the scariest things of my life, not only could I not see out my window but it was snowing! No more like blizzarding! The fastest I got going was probably twenty, the roads were that bad. I got home and we figured everything out with the insurance and we only had to pay a small amount and we got a new upgraded stereo and a new dashboard. In the end it all turn out great! But it was something I never want to deal with again! I just don't have very good luck with cars! (First Mckell had to save my life in Spanish Fork when my car over heated, we hadn't even gone out on a date yet, then 10 days after we were married, I crashed my car and totalled it, but I did get one of my dream cars:) and then this! Good thing I have such a patient husband who is such a hard worker! Love him!)

Out of Shape

So I am currently rehearsing for Beauty and the Beast at the Scera Shell, and as much as I love getting back to performing, I'm debating if it is worth it? After every rehearsal, I become sore for doing nothing! Well it is from dancing but some of the rehearsals all I do is sway my arms back and forth and walk around. The most exhausting thing is a couple of kart-wheels! These experiences have made me realize how out of shape I am! I have decided that I am going to start running in the mornings.... We will see how well this works out, I might just have to start doing Wii fit instead. But I am not going to talk myself into giving up yet! But in the meantime if any of you would like to come see the show, it runs from Jume 5-20 and there are now shows on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. It is going to be amazing! The leads are so wonderful and I even get to do the splits (another reason I am so sore) lucky me :)!! Looks like my nights will be spent stretching for the next few weeks! I would love to see everyone there!

Since work has been so slow the past couple of days, I have been bored out of my mind, so I play online to keep myself busy. The other day I made a Twitter and I found it addicting!! When I first started using it, I thought it was kind of a dumb idea, but now that I know how to use it, I have fallen in love. Well maybe not love but it does give you something to do when you don't have anything else to do. All you do is just update your status, like facebook, and that is about it! You can only use up to 120 characters, so the "tweets" don't become monologues. Another thing I like about it is you can update your status from your phone. You can "follow" different people and even have their updates sent to your phone, which makes you feel pretty cool when you get a lot of text messages :) haha. Twitter is an easy and quick way to blog. ON TO BIGGER AND BETTER THINGS

This week Mckell and I signed a contract to start building a new home! I am so excited and lucky to have a home of my very own. I never would've imagined to own a home at 21, but we have been very blessed to be able to start building a house. It is going to be in "Spanish Fark", sigh, which I never planned to live there in my entire life! But it is a great neighborhood with a new church right in our backyard, so I don't think it will be that bad. I just picked out the colors of the home and I can't wait to see how they will turn out. We are building with Bishop Homes and here is the picture of the house but we have changed it a little to make it fit what we want. It should be finished on August 6, which is when we have to move out of the apartment we are staying in now. We are praying that everything will go as planned so we don't end up homeless.

I am going to be getting my hair done soon, and I am trying to grow it long but it is taking forever!! I am getting so bored of the same brown that I have had, so I need to add some change to my hair color to keep my from cutting it short. I need some advice on what you think I should do. I am liking the colors Miley Cyrus has had so these are the colors I am kinda thinking...

I just finished my last final today! I am so excited for a 6 day break before I have to start my math class, which won't be too bad. This semester has been a ton of work and information but I loved learning how to become a better teacher!

My favorite part of the semester was when I got to teach fourth grade for three weeks. The students were so much fn and it made me so esxcited to finally become a teacher. I went and visited my class I taught last week and read the storybooks the children made on the unit my partner and I taught them. We brought rootbeer floats and had a little party. The stories were amazing, way better than what I was expecting. There was one boy who made a really good book and when I told him this, this was his reply, "I am going to have my mom make copies and then I am going to send one to you, and the rest I am going to sell! I am also going to write a book 2 and 3!!!" It was so funny that he thought of that! And he probably will try and have his mom make copies! The class also made us a book mark with pressed flowers and glitter and then they all signed their names on the back. I love it!

As excited as I am to have a break, It is kinda sad to see this semester end. I have made a ton of new friends in my classes this semester and I am going to miss them this summer! But good thing we will all get to see each other in everyone of our classes next semester! I only have two more semesters in school and then my student teaching, I can't believe my college career is going to be over so soon! Another bonus of being done this semester is more time to write in my personal blog!! YAY! No more school blogs!

I can't even express how crazy school is and how many blogs I have to write for all of my classes! I seriously have 2-5 per week to write and it is driving me crazy!!! I know critical reflection is important but do we really have to write 5 paragraphs after each lesson for every single class!!! Jazz Game!

For Valentine's Day, I gave Mckell tickets to the Jazz Game. We went Tuesday night when they played Memphis. It was a really good game and we got yummy ice cream! There was also a player on the Memphis team who we think is Paul Gasol's brother Marc, who is just as nasty as his brother and even more spastic!!! We had a ton of fun watching the team and beating Memphis!!!!

Mckell and I go bowling a lot, especially with his sister and her husband, Cass and Jord, who got married 2 months before us. It is so much fun and we alsways love hanging out with those two! McKell's Haircut

So a couple months after we got married, I tried cutting Mckell's hair. I thought I did a great job, especially for my first haircut. Well a little while back Mckell's hair grew into a mullet again and needed to be cut again, but he wouldn't let me help him for some reason... So this is the hair you get when you try to cut it yourself- Another Mullet!

Christmas!

Even though Christmas was FOREVER ago I felt left out with not having a post about Christmas. This year was our very first Christmas together and it was so much fun! We spoiled each other!! McKell got a paintball gun and a lot of new clothes as well as Scene It Seinfeld edition which we played all of Christmas break. I got all new snow gear including a new yellow and zebra helmet, goggles, yellow snow pants, really cute coat, and the best of all.... THE warmest snowboots ever! They are made for -60 degree weather, I don't even have to wear socks (but I do becasue it would be gross if I didn't) We spent alot of our Christmas break snowmobiling and playing Hearts and Farkle which we are all addicted to now. Overall, Christmas and New Years were a blast and I hope there will be more fun to come with this new year!

Bad at Blogging!!

It has been over a month since my last blog! I guess it does have to do with 2 other school blogs taking up all of my blogging time and the tremendous amount of homework I have this semester- well it is probably about average for college but I am used to the easy UVU homework that takes about 3 hours every week, not 3 hours everyday! I just started my elementary education program this semester at UVU and I love my classes, they are just a lot of work but I know they are just preparing me for the amount of work that I will have to do when I am actually teaching. Mckell is staying busy with his job creating Uncle Kenny Cash as a safety incentive for the guys at CCC (Condie Construction Company) and traveling up to Ogden and back once a week. But life is still great!

Cookie Party.... Yummy!

This past weekend, my mom's side of the family had a cookie party where we all brought two dozen of our favorite cookies and the recipes and had a delicious dinner! It was a lot of fun! We all got to take home goodie boxes of everyone's cookies.

Halloween Party!

Me and McKell went to our friend's halloween party. I met all of these girls when I was out in Florida! They are so much fun!! We never got a picture of us together in our Halloween costume, but we were the fast food couple, The Burger King and Wendy!

DISNEYLAND!

In October, me, McKell, and his family all flew out to Disneyland! It was my dream vacation. It was such a fun trip!! I had been needing my dose of Disney since it had already been almost 7 months since my last visit to a Disney Theme Park! We also went to Sea World and saw the Shamu show, Believe, and I grew a knew love for killer whale. They were so cute!!

McKell got caught by the Disney Police and put in jail.... Good thing He broke out with his strong muscles!

Disney had a Halloween Party where they closed down California Adventure and you can only get in with a special ticket. We went with our friends Wes and Nikki Crandall! It was close to the best event of the trip!! (Some little girl actually stopped me and asked me for a picture! She thought I was the real Hannah Montana!)

These Whales can jump so high!

This was one of the only rides at Sea World, so we went a couple times and got soaked!! You could also squirt people going on the ride and get them even more wet! McKell and his dad spent almost half of their time blasting the poor rafters.

After Sea world, we were so hungry so we found this huge pizza shop!!! The pizza was delicious!

So I decided to make a blog because I guess it is what married people do now... No but I love looking at my friends' blogs, so I was decided to make one so my friends can love to look at it too!!!
